Do you have to poke holes in your firewall to use a VPN or Hamachi?

I would like to run a video game that my friends can join, but I don't want to poke holes in my firewall. Can I use a VPN or Hamachi to avoid doing this?|||You would be a fool to host a game on your home machine. Sooner or later it will get hacked. The VPN will not protect you.|||Hey hamachi is the most easyist thing to hack so dont use it instead use TeamViewer at the moment its only 2 people who get access haven't herd of more people who get to join the VPN but it works great and dont have to change any settings at all.

|||Maybe. Firewalls can filter or prohibit VPN traffic. You may have to reconfigure or turn off your firewall to allow VPN traffic.

Yes you can, Hamachi is the most common of those programs, as it allows you to create a VPN between multiple computers with one computer as the host!
