The router at my work keeps dropping its VPN tunnels every 7 minutes. What can I do?

There are two tunnels set up to remote locations via VPN. The people in those locations log in to a master computer here using remote log in. I am viewing the router now and the VPN connections just reset every 6-7 minutes.

Thanks|||if just VPN drops, it means it is set to disconnect if there is not any use. what you can do is to set a batch file.

open a text file and type ping -t xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx which is internal IP of your router save this whith extension of CMD. for exampe it would be ping.cmd you should see a different icon as text file. otherwise you need to enable extension showing from explorer windows --%26gt; tools --%26gt; options --%26gt; view --%26gt; uncheck " hide extensions for known file types"

you can add this batch file to start up folder in your compuer or server if you have and make sure it's running before placing it.

good luck|||What does the log say? The router should be configured to log the VPN sessions. Have a look there for clues.
