Could a problem with my VPN adapter turn my computer to turn off?

My computer has been turning off then on again (within seconds), in between the screen goes blank . However, it goes back to the exact place before it turned off?

I have been looking at some suggestions and checked the Device manager and found that there is a cross next to the VPN adapter? Any suggestions?|||Its unlikely that its your VPN adapter causing the issue. This adapter is normally related to creating a network across another network.

The most likely cause could be:

Your display adapter drivers have become corrupted, outdated or need updating

Your resolution is set to high for your graphic card or monitor

Your screen refresh rate is to high check the Hertz and set lower

The monitor could be faulty

A good way to test is reboot in safe mode and see if the screen turns off and on

Hope that helps
