How can you use wifi on an Ipod touch without having the VPN?

My Ipod touch has both a wifi and a VPN option. I'm having trouble with accessing the internet using wifi. I want to use wifi wherever I go, but even when I'm connected to a wifi network, it won't let me access the internet. I'm guessing I need both a wifi and a VPN network. Please help?|||I don't ever use VPN on my ipod touch, just wifi...Try turning off VPN option via general settings on the device.

You don't need both.

If that fails restart or reset the device.|||You can disable the VPN option and make the Wi-FI connectivity of the iPod the preferred option. If the Wi-Fi network you're using requires passwords, you'll need to enter that to join the network The password will only be needed once, and then can be made a preffered network.

If you're using a public Wi-Fi network, you may need to open the browser to complete authentication.|||VPN is virtual private network. they are used in the work place. try restarting you ipod, that will sometimes fix wifi problems.
