How can i have both interenet connection and vpn connection at the same time?

i can connect with my toshiba laptop to my dell laptop via VPN but the problem is as soon as vpn connects, the internet will disconnect from toshiba? is there any way to have both connection?|||What kind of VPN are you using? It's not hard to do but each is different in how it pushes the route.|||Only if your VPN supports split tunneling. Without knowing what technology you're using for your VPN it's not possible to say if you can work around this or not.
