I have a home network with multiple computers on it, including my work laptop.
- My work laptop is VPN'd in during the day.
- None of my personal computers have any VPN software on them
If I am on my non-work computer (on my home network) -- will my work be able to see if I am on the hunt for another job using the non-work computer?|||very unlikely!
if the company is enforcing VPN policy to prevent split-tunneling, then only your computer is connected and visible to the corporate office via the VPN tunnel.
one way to tell is to see if you can access other computers on your network or have them access network shares or resources on your VPN-connected PC. if not, then you are safe.
if you can indeed still access other PCs or have them access resources on yours even when you are connected via VPN to your office, then it is still very very unlikely, although technically possible. But even in that case, it would require an IT person at your corporate office to tdecide to break into your very own computer remotely trying to find security holes if any, which would be a big problem for him, and a potentially big source of lawsuit money for you :-)
--%26gt; I wouldn't worry about that!
just be careful on your work laptop (and also on your office PC) about your Internet traffic, and even emails or IM messages, as the company might have had you sign an Internet usage policy that allows them to monitor all this traffic.|||Nope. It's not the same network.|||if your laptop and home PC's are on the same network, someone from other end can find out what is going on other PC's, if they know what is administrator password for your home PC's. But as far as i know it's against law. so it's depend on other side, but it's not an easy task to do and not worth it.
