How will vpn software affect your internet speed?

I want to subscribe to the world-secure channel vpn software. They give you the option of taking an account that costs $80 per year and then the speed is 512 kbps. The other option is $120 and then you have unlimited speed. Will the 512 kbps be enough or should i go for the unlimited speed?I live in the UAE and I have a 2mbps speed account.|||I work in the UAE and use SurfBouncer personal VPN. They have unlimited bandwidth and USA and Europe servers. I have no problem downloading video from sites like Hulu with the service. They have a special at $99 per year right now. I like them because they use secure SSL OpenVPN and change their server ip addresses all the time which makes them hard to block. I've used other services before with fixed ip address servers and have had access blocked to them.

The company you mention uses PPTP for their VPN which is much less secure than SSL VPN and drops out a lot. When PPTP drops out you are left with your original IP address wide open. I have experienced this. It's not a cool thing in the middle of a download or while surfing to suddenly realize your VPN is off line without notice.
